2. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you interact with our website, landing pages, and services. It applies to visitors, prospects, clients, vendors, and job applicants in the United States. California residents have additional rights described below.

3. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Identifiers & contact info: name, email, phone number, company name, role/title.
  • Project/service info: details you submit via forms (e.g., budget, project needs, messages, file uploads).

Information we may collect automatically

  • Device/technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system.
  • Internet/usage data: pages viewed, time on page, clicks.
  • Cookies/pixels (future): analytics and advertising tags once implemented.

Sensitive personal information

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (e.g., government IDs, precise geolocation, health data). If you submit such information, we use it only as necessary to provide the requested service.

4. How We Use Information

  • Respond to inquiries and provide requested services.
  • Maintain business records and communicate about projects.
  • Improve website functionality, quality, and security.
  • (Future) Run analytics and measure website/ad performance.
  • (Future) Deliver behavior-based or retargeted advertising when enabled.
  • Comply with applicable laws and enforce our terms.

Automated decision-making: none at this time. If adopted (e.g., via Zapier-enabled routing/scoring), you can request information and applicable opt-outs.

5. Sharing Information

  • Service providers: Hostinger (hosting) and WPForms (form intake). Providers act under contracts limiting use to services for us.
  • Advertising/analytics partners (future): when we add analytics/ad pixels, limited data may be shared with platforms (e.g., Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok). Under California law, this may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Legal & safety: to comply with law or protect rights, safety, or property.
  • Business transfers: in connection with mergers, acquisitions, or similar events.

We do not sell personal information for money. If our use of ad tech is deemed “selling” or “sharing,” you can opt out (see Your Rights and Cookies & Tracking).

6. Data Retention

We keep lead and contact information indefinitely to maintain business records and client history unless deletion is required by law or you request deletion. Once implemented, analytics/advertising data may be held according to partner retention windows (commonly 14–26 months) unless you exercise opt-out or deletion rights.

7. Cookies & Tracking

When enabled, we will use first-party and third-party cookies, pixels, and tags for:

  • Essential functions (e.g., security, basic site operations).
  • Analytics (e.g., understanding site usage).
  • Advertising (e.g., retargeting and interest-based ads).

Manage preferences via your browser/device settings. If your browser sends a recognized Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a valid California opt-out of “sale”/“sharing.”

To request opt-out before cookies/pixels are enabled, contact us at info@talbot.agency. Once ad/analytics are live, we’ll provide a cookie banner and settings link, and a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your U.S. state (including California), you may have rights to:

  • Know/access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request a portable copy of your data.
  • Correct inaccuracies.
  • Request deletion, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising.
  • Limit use/disclosure of sensitive personal information (not collected by us).

How to submit a request

We use reasonable methods to verify requests and will respond within applicable timelines. Authorized agents may submit requests with proof of authority. We do not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

Appeals

If your state provides an appeal right and you disagree with our response, reply to our email with “Appeal” in the subject. We will review and respond within the required timeframe.

9. California-Specific Disclosures

Notice at collection: We collect the categories listed in Section 3 for the purposes in Section 4 and disclose them as described in Section 5. See Section 6 for retention.

Right to know/access, correct, delete, portability: See Section 8 to submit requests.

Opt-out of sale/share & targeted advertising: Use the cookie settings and the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link (to be provided when ad/analytics are live). We honor GPC signals.

Limit use of Sensitive Personal Information: We do not use SPI to infer characteristics. If this changes, you may request limits.

Financial incentives: If we offer a referral, newsletter, or other incentive, a separate Notice of Financial Incentive will explain categories, terms, how to opt in/out, and method for valuing data.

Automated decision-making: We do not currently use automated decision-making. If we adopt it, you may request meaningful information about how it works and exercise any opt-outs allowed by California regulations.

Shine the Light: California residents may request a list of third parties (if any) to whom we disclosed personal information for their own direct marketing in the prior calendar year. Include “Shine the Light Request” in your subject line.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to our business, including secure hosting, encrypted transmission, access controls, and vendor due diligence. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure.

11. Children’s Data

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

12. Changes
